Jonathan Kellerman and Helen Hardt Rise to the Top
There’s some interesting movement this week on the adult fiction charts. Neil Gaiman, J.D. Robb and Jonathan Kellerman (Heartbreak Hotel) have all sold over 18,000 in print, which makes me believe that have that in almost double their digital sales. I would give these authors close to 40,000 in overall sales. Not far behind them, but more in digital than in print is Burn by Helen Hardt, which probably has sales in the 30,000 plus range.
Sandra Brown’s Sting, James Patterson’s Bullseye, Danielle Steel’s The Apartment, and EL James’ erotic Twilight fan fiction sequel, Fifty Shades Darker (along with the 2 other books in the trilogy, including the one with the POV of Christian/Edward) is also selling well (in part to the movie, which has made over $300 million worldwide). These books are in the 25,000 sale range.
In the romance genre, Mary Balogh, Nora Roberts, Debbie Macomber and Linda Lael Miller are the ones to watch with over 5,000 in mass market paperback sales. Their overall sales are in the 15,000 plus range.
Let’s take a look at the new romances that have hit the USA Today top 100 this week…
It starts with Burn by Helen Hardt at #2
#34- Every Little Thing by Marie Force
#43- Mack Daddy by Penelope Ward
#56- Like a Memory by Abbi Glines
#79- Riveted by Jay Crownover
#80- The Millionaire Mistake by Namina Simone
#81- Park Avenue Prince by Louisa Bay
#91- Once Upon a Valentine box set of 12 authors
Here are some new romances heating up the online charts…
Steel isn’t the only thing that’s hard.
Deacon was older than me, but I wanted him regardless. He had this raw edge to him, this primal aura surrounding him that made me feel wholly feminine. He was the epitome of a man…a real man. Even his profession was masculine: a blacksmith. I had no doubt he knew how to work his hands over a woman, how to use them to make her feel the soft and hard sides of him.
What I wanted was for him to be my first…my only.
She thought I didn’t see her watching me, that I didn’t know she wanted me.
I knew, and I wanted her with a fierceness that rivaled anything else.
What Maddie didn’t know was I’d already claimed her. There was no other woman for me but her. I was a possessive bastard, territorial when it came to her. The time had finally come to make her mine. I’d show her how primal I really was, how rough I liked it, how much I wanted to make her scream my name. I’d show her how a man took care of his woman in all the ways that counted.
She’d be mine. Only mine.
