Silence Fallen Book Review *Patricia Briggs*

Attacked and abducted in her home territory, Mercy finds herself in the clutches of the most powerful vampire in the world, taken as a weapon to use against alpha werewolf Adam and the ruler of the Tri-Cities vampires. In coyote form, Mercy escapes only to find herself without money, without clothing, and alone in the heart of Europe…

Unable to contact Adam and the rest of the pack, Mercy has allies to find and enemies to fight, and she needs to figure out which is which. Ancient powers stir, and Mercy must be her agile best to avoid causing a war between vampires and werewolves, and between werewolves and werewolves. And in the heart of the ancient city of Prague, old ghosts rise…

Patricia Briggs currently writes one of the best supernatural series on the market. Fans of this series will adore Silence Fallen, the 10th book in her Mercy Thompson series. Mercy is a heroine for the ages, and in Silence Fallen, Patricia Briggs shows that a heroine like Mercy can save herself many times over. This book has a little bit of everything with excellent dialogue and action, especially as we see Mercy save herself from death because of a dangerous vampire who has kidnapped her for his own selfish ulterior motives. We also see how loved Mercy is, not just from her beloved mate, Adam, but her “family” of werewolves, faes, goblins, and the like.

When Mercy is kidnapped and almost killed (she is hit by a car on purpose), and taken away to Europe, she must rely on her skills to stay safe. This coyote shifter is lost in Europe without money, a passport for friends. Her bond with her husband Adam is cut off. As she tries to find a way home, she runs into some interesting characters who may or may not be her enemies. While she tries her best to stay alive, Adam and his crew try to find her, but have many roadblocks stopping them. The action and overall plot is superb, on the edge of your seat action. There are also moments of humor from Mercy, as well as from Adam and his crew. Adam is the ultimate sexy hero because of his undying love for Mercy. He would die for her to save her.

Silence Fallen is a must read. An excellent tale by an amazing author who raises the bar for all authors. One of my favorite reads of 2017. (Ace Books)
