J.R. Ward and Jay Asher On Top This Week
Some new books have charted this week, including some familiar buzzed about books. The power of television and movies can help books with their sales, especially those books that have been published more than a handful of years ago. So is the case with Jay Asher’s Thirteen Reasons Why. Because of the adaptation on Netflix, Thirteen Reasons Why is the biggest seller this week (Young Adult and Adult Fiction), with over 50,000 in sales (print and digital combined). James Patterson, Mary Higgins Clark and Liane Moriarty are all big winners this week with close to 50,000 in sales.
In terms of romance, (GO ROMANCE) J.R. Ward’s The Chosen did better than her last release (The Beast) with over 14,000 in print (with digital, I would say near the 40,000 range, giving her the #1 spot on the NYT’s Combined Fiction and the second spot on the USA Today). Debbie Macomber’s If Not For You is still holding strong with near 30,000, and Danielle Steel’s Magic is still selling above and beyond with close to 18,000 in print.
Over at the USA Today chart toppers this week (in terms of romance for the top 100), J.R. Ward’s The Chosen starts things at the number 2 spot:
#16- Easy Magic by Kristen Proby
#25- Sweeter Than Ever by Bella Andre
#29- The Castle by Skye Warren
#41- Wild Ride by Julie Ann Walker
#88- Ends Here by M. Robinson
Let’s take a look at some books heating up the online romance charts:
What happens when the internet’s favorite playboy falls in love?
I have the best job in the world. Date beautiful women and write about it.
But I want to take it to the next level: instead of writing about my experiences make it into an online reality show.
But here is the catch. My boss wants me to share the show with a woman co-host. And he wants that woman to be my best friend and co-worker, Margo.
I’ll date beautiful women and she’ll date hot men. Sounds fair enough.
So now I have to watch her fake date hot men. I used to love going home with a different woman every night, but suddenly this isn’t as fun. Seeing Margo with anyone else is driving me crazy.
And the more time I spend with her working on the show, the less I want to keep our relationship in the friends’ zone. And the harder it is to stop myself from imagining her bent over the copier.
Things are about to get unprofessional.
A romance that starts at the end, and ends at the beginning.
He’s not coming.
He said he would always be here for me.
Except this time, when I really need him to be here, he isn’t.
He isn’t fucking here.

Their weakness to silver is the one area that humans have exploited in the past, almost bringing the dragon species to their knees. New information has come to light proving that this affliction is an allergy. One that can potentially be beaten.
Dr. Louise Parry is a top physician in her field. She is also kind and compassionate, someone the dragons can trust. She is tasked with finding a cure. A job she does not take lightly. Thankfully, she has very little dealings with the bad-tempered king. There is something about him that has her heart beating faster and a flame of awareness igniting inside her. She can’t understand why, since he’s rude and abrasive.
Granite wants a cure found. The sooner the better. He keeps a close eye on the whole project and moreover, on the little human spearheading the whole thing. Trust is not something that comes easily to him. If she thinks he’ll allow himself to become blinded by her soft, sweet demeanor and lush curves, she’s got another thing coming. Touching the female is off limits. Against every rule in the book. It’s strictly forbidden.

Adventure. Danger. Excitement.
Those were not words PAVAD Internal Affairs Supervisor Kyra Dillon wanted to hear in conjunction with her life ever again. She’d had enough adventure in her life lately—and had the bullet scar on her temple to prove it.
But she’d go through all that hell again if it meant never returning to her hometown—Value, Texas. Population 897.
Agent Camden Lake, with PAVAD’s Runaway & Endangered Youth unit, was used to going non-stop from one case to another. Danger and adventure were all that kept him from remembering the little sister he hadn’t been able to keep safe.
She was Barratt County’s only open missing child case to this day.
Cam had spent most of the twenty years since protecting those who needed it. It was why he’d joined the FBI in the first place. Why he’d taken the PAVAD assignment and left his Texas home behind.
The FBI conference brought him back to his hometown and his
Until Dr. Kyra Dillon sent up a distress signal.
From only fifty miles away.
