Why I Am Voting Tomorrow

“I declare to you that woman must not depend upon the protection of man, but must be taught to protect herself, and there I take my stand.” – Susan B. Anthony “Those who stay away from the election think that one vote will do no good: ‘Tis but one step more to think one vote will do no harm. – Ralph Waldo...

I Love Your Blog: The Trillionth Page- Carolyn Jean...

Nov 3, 2008 by

I first found out about marvelous Carolyn Jean and her blog, The Trillionth Page from the incredible Lisabea who has her own blog Nose in a Book. Carolyn Jean is so very insightful from the books she reads and comments on, along with the movies and television shows she watches. She is a hardcore Sookie Stackhouse fan and found great joy in the movie North and South and why Richard Armitage makes most of us all tingly inside. She does these amazing posts that make me think and laugh at the same time. She will post about why birds won’t go into her bird feeder along with a hilarious, rolling on the ground laughing till you puke post on how her kittens that went into heat and had a great night sexing each other...

Isn’t it interesting how two people can read the same book and have two totally different opinions? So is the case between Kmont and I about Red (Dead World, Book 1), Jordan Summers November release by Tor. A segment from Kmont’s review on her blog, Lurv A La Mode: “Overall, this book read like a rough draft. The characters were easy to figure out long before the book ended – including who the killer was. Dialogue was stilted and boring. The worldbuilding became one-dimensional and tiresome. The book started out very promising and spiraled downward from the moment the hero and heroine meet.” My review of Red is now live on Romance Novel TV. This is a small part of what I thought of Red: “Jordan Summers’ Red takes an excellent twist on the...

Nov 1, 2008 by

November 1st is a big day for both aspiring and published authors. It is the official start of National Novel Writing Month, otherwise known as NaNoWriMo. I call it NaNo for short. By now you may have noticed the new picture on my side-bar and my avatar. I have decided to take part in NaNo. What is NaNoWriMo?“National Novel Writing Month is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to novel writing. Participants begin writing November 1. The goal is to write a 175-page (50,000-word) novel by midnight, November 30.Valuing enthusiasm and perseverance over painstaking craft, NaNoWriMo is a novel-writing program for everyone who has thought fleetingly about writing a novel but has been scared away by the time and effort involved. Because of the limited writing window, the ONLY thing that matters in NaNoWriMo is output....
