Smexy, New Slang and Being Greek...

The poll I put up on my sidebar for 2 weeks closed a few days ago in regards to a new word that has been introduced into my vernacular. The word “smexy” is a play on the word “sexy”. A bit of silliness ensued over at Twitter where the word“smexy” was used in some twitter conversations, and that is the day history was made, at least for me. (As for the demon amoeba sheep, I am laying some claim to that!) The poll asked: Is Smexy the new “in” word? Those who voted: Yes. All the cool kids say it 8 (28%) No. What’s smexy? 12 (42%) Meh. Give me old fashioned sex any day 8 (28%) Apparently the majority of those who voted had no clue what smexy was, which makes perfect sense,...

Say hello to the year of fish love! And apparently there is a sequel planned, A White Beauty, with a heroine being an...

Miss Pettigrew Lives For a Day Movie Review...

Oct 8, 2008 by

A few weeks ago I watched a delightful movie that is part 1940’s screwball comedy, part fairy tale. Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day has two great actresses, Amy Adams, who is simply adorable, and Frances McDormand, who is one of the best actresses in Hollywood today. Both these women shine in every movie they are in and Miss Pettigrew Lives For a Day is no exception. Synopsis: In 1939 London, Miss Guinevere Pettigrew is a middle-aged governess who finds herself once again unfairly dismissed from her job. Without so much as severance pay, Miss Pettigrew realizes that she must for the first time in two decades seize the day. This she does, by intercepting an employment assignment outside of her comfort level as social secretary. Arriving at a penthouse apartment for the interview,...
