"WTF?" Cover Friday

Oct 25, 2008 by

Every Wednesday and Friday I go on to the Ellora’s Cave website to see their new releases. Nine times out of ten there tends to be some true, “WTF?” covers that make me want to cover my eyes because they are so bad. Today was no exception. I give you the thin man, because those ribs are just not sexy. Someone needs to make him eat a hamburger for he can put some meat on his bones. But I can’t complain about the butt. The guy behind him has this wierd back action going on. He looks like he is missing a chunk of his back! Then there is this one where the abs on this male model really freaks me out. He is more tone and waxed than Ken ever was. Thanks to...

One Bite With a Stranger Review...

Oct 23, 2008 by

Another paranormal story with vampires is the steamy romance by Christine Warren called One Bite With a Stranger. This book is an extended version of a title Christine originally published with Ellora’s Cave called Fantasy Fix. Since this a romance and an extension of an her original novel, you can pretty much presume that there is going to be some hot loving going on. There is definitely some of that, but the way the two main characters act with each other, especially the way the hero claims his woman, gave me some good laughs. And I am not sure if those laughs are meant to be intentional. Regina McNeill broke up with her sleazy ex-boyfriend after she found out he was boinking every women he could get his hands on. Her friends decide that...

What Animal Needs Some Shift Changing Love?...

Oct 23, 2008 by

The latest poll has closed and the majority have spoken for their next favorite animal who deserves a shift-changing romance: Sheep. Wooly Baa Love 10 (62%) Goat. His beard has special powers 2 (12%) Duck. He has a sexy name- Aflac 0 (0%) More mermaid/men. They know how to stay wet 4 (25%) Again, the sheep comes out on top! Unfortunately there seem there will be no were-duck love in the future. I also added a new picture of a tree to my sidebar. The tree and I have an interesting past with one another *coughnastytreesexwithaheroineinaromanceIreadcough* and I have decided the tree needs more romance in their life. So, I am calling all authors to share the love and give a tree their own romance!*other bloggers give you sexy men pictures, I give you...

Blood Memories Review and a Chat...

Oct 22, 2008 by

Barb Hendee is the well known New York Times author of the Nobel Dead Saga, which she co-writes with her husband J.C. I have never read that series, but when I was given Blood Memories, I decided to give it a try because I am always looking for new books dedicated to may favorite type of paranormal character- the vampire. I was surprised to find out that Blood Memories was originally written by Barb twelve years ago. Even though it was an early manuscript, her publisher, Roc, was still interested in purchasing the title and publishing it. Barb realized it was a bit outdated and did some revisions, thus the book that was published this month. Blood Memories is about vampire, Eleisha Clevon who has been around since the mid-nineteenth century ever since she...

The Awesomeness of Purple Prose...

Oct 21, 2008 by

Purple Prose: Purple prose is a term of literary criticism used to describe passages, or sometimes entire literary works, written in prose so overly extravagant, ornate, or flowery as to break the flow and draw attention to itself. Purple prose is sensually evocative beyond the requirements of its context. It also refers to writing that employs certain rhetorical effects such as exaggerated sentiment or pathos in an attempt to manipulate a reader’s response. This is an excerpt from a book I am presently reading. Does is it fit the example of purple prose? You decide: “The broad head of the shaft entered her sex, past the slick folds of flesh, moving slowly in. The inexorable grace of a dragon’s head penetrating, a hot, moist cave where the maiden waited. But she did not tremble...

Oct 21, 2008 by

I failed to mention in yesterday’s contest post that Romance Novel TV is holding 13 days of spooky Halloween contests where you can win a boat load of prizes! The one contest- The 13 Days of Halloween, My True Love Gave To Me, (a take off on The 12 Days of Christmas) is where you had to come up with your own 13 days, and I was the winner! The crowd pleaser was the 10 Vamps a Sucking. Here is what I came up with:• On the 1st day of Halloween my true love gave to me a fright that scared the hell out of me.• On the 2nd day of Halloween my true love gave to me 2 candied apples and a fright that scared the hell out of me.• On the 3rd...

Sharing the Contest Love!

Oct 20, 2008 by

Who loves contests? I certainly do! And there are three great ones that having been announced that I must bring to your attention. Why not buy a Contemporary and save the world?Smart Bitches, Trashy Books, Dear Author and Berkley author, Erin McCarthy have joined forces in regards to their concern of the poor state of Contemporary Romances being published. Is the Contemporary Romance genre a dying breed? Well, Erin McCarthy may be the answer with her new Contemporary Romance, Flat-Out Sexy hitting the shelves in Novemeber. I have read this latest by her, and I can say it is a definite winner (my review will be posted at RNTV in a few weeks) Decision ’08 Demon Bound HQMeljean Brook is holding Decision ’08 in honor of her Novemeber release, Demon Bound . (Yet another...

Why I am Kramer

Oct 19, 2008 by

**MAJOR RANT AHEAD** I am going to be upfront and say this is a major rant on my part. I realized the implications of being public with my disdain and anger may cause problems for myself, and I am expecting some backlash. Most think of me as sweet or too nice, well this post may change your mind. I am the type of person who is usually not prone to public fits. I deal with my feelings, whether it be anger, depression or sadness by talking one-on-one with others and ask advice on how to handle situations, or post a picture, poem or quote to express myself. But when it comes to this situation, I have decided to go public. So, beware all those who read because what I am about to get off...
